Drones Help Preserve Endangered Wildlife and Forests
Our friends over at ConservationDrones.org just released a TED video in which co-founder Lian Pin Koh discusses the use of drones for ecological study and preservation. Dr. Lian Pin’s APM-powered drones (developed by 3D Robotics) have conducted missions in Sumatra, Congo, Gabon and Madagascar.
According to Lian Pin, drones represent an affordable, safe and flexible new technology that enables his organization to map forests, create 3D models of endangered habitats and monitor the health of forests and wildlife around the world.
