Navisworks is an Autodesk software tool used to manage, combine, and review various 3D model files. During a project’s pre-construction phase, Navisworks enables design and construction teams to review the associated BIM models for clash detections and to create a guided experience for project stakeholders to improve a project’s outcome.

Drone topographic surveys of a site’s existing conditions can be captured for use as a preliminary design surface, which can greatly improve the accuracy of design work and provide a more realistic demonstration of the finished BIM models to stakeholders prior to breaking ground.

Navisworks is part of the Autodesk Architecture, Engineering, & Construction (AEC) Collection of software tools, which also includes popular tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, and Infraworks. All of these tools feed into an integrated system of construction management software known as BIM 360.

Earthworks is the process of engineering involving excavation (cut) and movement (fill) of soils and rock for the purpose of grading a site. Drone software platforms enhance traditional earthwork processes by making it easier to collect, analyze, and share topography and volumetric data.

Revit is an Autodesk computer-aided design (CAD) software tool used for building information modeling (BIM) by design-build construction teams.
